The difference between multistage centrifugal pump and single-stage centrifugal pump

What is the difference between multi-stage centrifugal pump and single-stage centrifugal pump? In fact, the difference is not complicated, from the literal point of view, the focus is on the number of impellers. The multi-stage centrifugal pump is characterized by high pressure and low flow. The single-stage centrifugal pump has only one-stage impeller, which is characterized by low pressure and large flow.

The multi-stage centrifugal pump is a collection of two pumps with the same function. In terms of the structure of the fluid channel, it is shown in that the pressure relief port of the front stage and the entrance of the latter stage can pass through each other, so that the entrance of layers of series, the pressure relief port and the inlet are all thought through, and the multi-stage centrifugal pump is formed by the composition of the series. The function of setting up multi-stage centrifugal pump is to increase the setting pressure.

A single-stage centrifugal pump includes a pump body, a pump cover, a motor device with an output shaft, a pump shaft, a bearing seat, an impeller, a mechanical seal and a machine seal cover installed in the pump body. The key feature is that there is a device between the output shaft of the motor and the pump shaft called a clamp coupling, or a device installed on the bearing seat, called a guide bearing of the pump shaft.

The difference between multi-stage centrifugal pump and single-stage centrifugal pump summarizes the following aspects:

1. Single-stage centrifugal pump refers to the pump with only one impeller, with a higher lift of only 125 meters.

2. The multi-stage pump has two or more impellers, and the higher lift can exceed the head of the single-stage centrifugal pump; when the single-stage centrifugal pump head, it is necessary to add two-stage motors, the four-stage motor can be used by increasing the number of impellers, which can improve the service life of the pump and reduce the noise of the unit, but the maintenance of the multi-stage pump is a little more difficult than the single-stage centrifugal pump.

3. When the actual head of the pump does not exceed 125 meters, according to the area of the pump studio and the price of the pump, the multi-stage pump is generally more expensive, but also consider a variety of reasons, the choice of single-stage centrifugal pump or multi-stage pump.

4. Because there is only one impeller on the pump shaft of the single-stage centrifugal pump, while there are many impellers connected in series on the pump shaft of the multi-stage centrifugal pump, the multi-stage centrifugal pump rotates together by the two-stage or more impellers installed on the same shaft. The output of the front impeller, and then into the back impeller input, each installed a layer of impeller blades, is called the first stage.
