How to prevent the motor of chemical pump from burning down

Motor is one of the main power equipment in production, and motor burnout is a common phenomenon. In order to prevent the motor from burning during operation, the following "six measures" are effective in addition to taking necessary technical protection measures before operation.

1. Observe and listen carefully

Stop immediately when you smell a strange smell, and observe whether the motor has vibration, noise and smell. During the operation of the motor, especially the high-power motor, it is often necessary to check whether the anchor bolts, motor end covers and bearing caps are loose and whether the grounding device is reliable. If you find that the motor vibration, noise and smell increase, you must stop as soon as possible, find out the cause and troubleshoot.

2. Clean the motor regularly

During the operation of the motor, if dust, water stains and other sundries enter into the interior of the motor, it will form a short-circuit medium, which may damage the insulating layer of the conductor, cause turn-to-turn short circuit, increase current and temperature, and burn the motor. Therefore, it is necessary to prevent dust, water stains and other sundries from entering the motor, and at the same time regularly clean the outside of the motor to prevent dust and other sundries from entering the heat dissipation rib of the motor to ensure good heat dissipation of the motor.

3. Keep the working current of the motor small

The overload operation of the motor may be caused by the overload, low voltage or mechanical stagnation of the drive motor. Therefore, in the process of motor operation, it is necessary to regularly check whether the transmission is flexible and reliable, whether the concentricity of the coupling is standard, the flexibility of gear transmission and so on. If there is a stuck phenomenon, should immediately stop, troubleshooting before operation.

4. Check and maintain the motor control equipment regularly to ensure its normal operation

The technical status of motor control equipment plays a decisive role in the normal start-up of motor. Therefore, the control equipment of the motor should be set in a dry, ventilated and easy to operate position, and dust should be removed regularly. Always check whether the contactor contacts, coil cores and all wiring screws are reliable, whether the mechanical parts are flexible, and maintain good technical condition to ensure that the motor runs smoothly and does not burn out.

5. Always check whether the three-phase current of the motor is balanced

For a three-phase asynchronous motor, the average difference between any three-phase current and the other two-phase current shall not exceed 10% to ensure the safe operation of the motor. If the limit is exceeded, it indicates that there is something wrong with the motor. The cause should be identified and troubleshooting should be made before operation.

6. Always check whether the temperature and temperature rise of the motor are too high during operation

Always check whether the motor bearings are overheated or lack of oil. If the temperature near the bearing is too high, stop immediately and check. Whether there are cracks, scratches or defects on the bearing rolling body and raceway surface, whether the bearing clearance is too large and sloshing, and whether the inner ring rotates on the shaft. If the above phenomenon occurs, the bearing must be replaced.
