What are the advantages and disadvantages of magnetic pump

Magnetic pumps

Advantages:

1. Because the transmission shaft does not need to penetrate the pump shell, but uses the magnetic field to transfer torque through the air gap and the thin wall of the isolation sleeve to drive the inner rotor to rotate, thus fundamentally eliminating the leakage channel of the shaft seal and realizing the complete sealing.

2. There is overload protection when transmitting power.

3. Except for the high requirements of magnetic materials and magnetic circuit design, the technical requirements of other parts are not high.

4. The maintenance and overhaul of magnetic pump is small.

Disadvantages:

1. The efficiency of magnetic pump is higher than that of ordinary centrifugal pump.

2. There are higher requirements for the material and manufacture of the isolation sleeve to prevent one-sided leakage, such as improper material selection or poor manufacturing quality, the isolation sleeve can not stand the friction of internal and external magnetic steel, but once broken, the conveying medium will spill out.

3. Due to the limitation of magnetic transmission of materials, magnetic pumps are generally only used to transport media below 100C and 1.6MPa in China. (the temperature of the heat conducting oil pump made by Lanzhou Highland pump Co., Ltd can reach 450C).

4. Because the wear resistance of the isolation sleeve material is generally poor, the magnetic pumps is generally used to transport the medium without solid particles.

5. The high alignment requirement of the coupling will lead to the damage of the bearing at the entrance and the wear of the isolation sleeve against one-sided leakage.
