Application range and working principle of Screw pump

A. Scope of application and working principle.

1.Screw pump is a kind of rotor volume pump, which is a new type of pump which works according to the principle of rotary meshing volume. It relies on the volume change of the sealing cavity formed by the screw and bushing to inhale and discharge the liquid.

2.Due to the special geometry of the two parts, an independent sealing cavity is formed, the medium flows uniformly along the axis, the internal velocity is low, the volume is constant, the pressure is stable, and there is no eddy current and agitation.

3.The screw pump is characterized by stable flow, small pressure fluctuation, certain self-priming ability, low noise, high efficiency, long service life and reliable operation; because the stator is made of elastic material, this kind of pump can be used to transport high viscosity fluid and containing hard suspended particles or fiber media, and can be competent for other pump types can not adapt to the working conditions. Its flow rate is proportional to rotational speed, and its outstanding advantage is that it does not form eddy current when conveying the medium, is not sensitive to the viscosity of the medium, and can transport the medium with high viscosity.

B. Factors affecting performance.

1.In the actual working process of the screw pump, there is internal leakage, also known as slip. As there is a certain gap in the sealing cavity of the pump, there is a pressure difference before and after the sealing cavity, and part of the liquid is refluxed, that is, there is leakage.

2.The essence of the work of screw pump is the process of continuous formation, movement and disappearance of sealing chamber.

3.Flow rate: twin screw pump as a volumetric pump, the main factors that affect the flow rate are rotational speed, pressure and viscosity of the medium.

4.Obviously, with the increase of the pressure difference between the front and rear of the sealing cavity, the leakage increases gradually. For different types and structures, the impact is also different.

5.The effect of viscosity: imagine water and sticky paste leaking out of a funnel-shaped container of the same volume. Obviously, water leaks faster than paste. Similarly, for the twin-screw pump, the leakage of high viscosity fluid is smaller than that of low viscosity fluid, and the leakage is inversely proportional to the viscosity of the medium.

6.The influence of rotational speed: when the screw pump works, a sealing cavity is formed between the two screws and the bushing. every time the screw rotates, a sealing cavity is removed from the inlet to the outlet, that is, the liquid with the volume of the sealing cavity is discharged. Ideally, there is no leakage inside the pump, so the flow rate of the pump is proportional to the speed.
