Matters needing attention in type selection of chemical process pump Mar 06, 2023

Chemical process pump is the general name of all kinds of pumps in the process of chemical production. There are many kinds of chemical process pumps, which can be divided into vane pumps, such as centrifugal pump, axial flow pump, mixed flow pump, partial flow pump, vortex pump, etc., and volume pumps, such as reciprocating pumps (including piston pumps, piston pumps, diaphragm pumps, etc.). Rotary pump (including screw pump, liquid ring pump gear pump, sliding vane pump, Roots pump, radial piston pump, etc.). Other types of pumps, such as according to the production process or product characteristics, can be divided into high pressure methylamine pump, low temperature pump, phosphoric acid slurry pump and so on.

In chemical or petrochemical production, pumps work under high temperature, low temperature (or ultra-low temperature), high pressure, flammable, explosive, toxic and strong corrosion medium, and some even work under the conditions of high inlet pressure, high lift, high viscosity, low flow rate and high cavitation, which put forward very stringent requirements for the performance of chemical pumps, especially for corrosion resistance, non-leakage (toxic media) and wear resistance.


In order to meet the special requirements of chemical production, chemical process pump also specializes in the production of chemical pumps, such as plastic pump, glass pump, ceramic pump, graphite pump, shielding pump, magnetic pump, impurity pump and so on. The main media that need to be transported in the process of phosphate fertilizer production are phosphate slurry, phosphoric acid slurry, all kinds of filtrate, concentrated phosphoric acid dilute phosphoric acid, concentrated sulfuric acid, dilute sulfuric acid and fluorosilicic acid and so on.

1. For the medium whose temperature is lower than 120 ℃, there is usually no special cooling system, and the own medium is often used for lubrication and cooling. Such as DFL (W) H chemical pump, DFL (W) PH shielded chemical pump (class H should be used for shielding motor when it exceeds 90 ℃); CZ ordinary type and IH chemical pump due to the suspension structure can make the temperature upper limit up to 140C ~ 160C; IHF liner fluorine pump can be used at a high temperature of 200C; only CQB ordinary magnetic pump temperature does not exceed 100C. It is worth mentioning that the medium which is easy to crystallize or contains particles should be equipped with sealing surface flushing pipe (interface is left at the time of design).

2. For the medium above 120 ℃ and less than 300 ℃, generally there must be a cooling cavity on the pump cover, and the sealing chamber should also be connected with coolant (with double-face mechanical seal). When coolant is not allowed to infiltrate into the medium, it should be connected after cooling its own medium (which can be realized through a simple heat exchanger). At present, the company has CZ chemical process pump, GRG high temperature pipeline pump and HPK hot water circulation pump (under development). In addition, CQB-G high temperature magnetic pump can be used in high temperature medium within 280C.

3. For the high temperature medium above 300 ℃, not only the pump head needs to be cooled, but also the suspension bearing chamber should be equipped with a cooling system, the pump structure is generally in the form of central support, and the mechanical seal is metal bellows type. but the price is high (the price is more than 10 times that of the ordinary machine seal).
